So, I decided to take on a challenge - not eating food for multiple days in a row. Crazy, right? But I wanted to see the effect it would have on my mind and body. I came across some videos on YouTube where individuals had already tried this, and decided to document their journey. Here are my thoughts on them:
Not eating for 4 days
The first video I watched was from a guy who decided to not eat food for 4 days. The video showcased his journey, starting from day 1 where he was feeling relatively okay, to day 4 where he was feeling extremely weak and tired. He mentioned feeling dizzy and having trouble sleeping.
Watching this video made me realize just how much our bodies depend on food. Without it, we become lethargic and lack energy. Our minds become foggy and we have trouble focusing. While he did mention some benefits, like losing a few pounds and increasing mental clarity, the cons outweighed the pros in my opinion. I couldn’t imagine going without food for 4 days.
Not eating for 5 days
The second video I watched was from a girl who went without food for 5 days. She documented her journey, starting from day 1 where she was feeling relatively good, to day 5 where she was feeling extremely tired and weak. She mentioned having trouble keeping her eyes open and feeling lightheaded.
Watching this video reaffirmed my belief that going without food for an extended period of time is not something I could do. While she did mention feeling great mental clarity and losing weight, the toll it took on her body was too much for me. I couldn’t imagine feeling dizzy and weak for multiple days in a row.
Overall, watching these videos was an eye-opening experience. It made me realize just how much our bodies depend on food for energy and how going without it can have a major impact on our physical and mental state. While some benefits were mentioned, like weight loss and mental clarity, the cons outweighed the pros. I think I’ll stick to eating food regularly.
